Which os should you build an app for first?

Building an app but have no idea which platform you should program it for first? Although it’s an old debate among developers and has been unconcluded so far but now it has been narrowed only to two platforms: and iOS & Android.

Yes, there are only two players – iOS and Android – in the today’s mobile battle. And most of the mobile app developers are building their apps only for one of them or for both.

Initial traction to app

Many app startups, from Instagram to Lyft, to Uber – initially launched their apps for iPhone users first. There are tons of similar examples.

The key reason is that iOS app for iPhone and iPad are capable of getting initial traction quite easily even in the case of paid apps.

Number of device user

Google too has been improving its mobile OS – Android for so long and for now, there are more than 80% Android smartphone users and 60% Android tablet users around the world. The new version of the OS - N, to be released later this year, is rumored to have the features similar to iOS.
