Reasons why developers must personalize app engagement

Are you planing to launch a mobile app development project? But if your app doesn't have the feature to be personalized, it will not get desired attention and no one will engage with it. This post reveals why there an app should have capabilities of being personalized the way users want...

A Research conducted by Nielsen in the last quarter of 2015 revealed that in Australia, smartphone users over the age of 18 years spend 33 hours in apps every month. On the other hand, they spend only four hours per month in browsers. When we consider these figures with the fact that more than 3 millions apps in combined are there on both Google Play and iTunes, we can easily say that apps are the most dominating part of the whole mobile ecosystem.

Users find an app interesting and engaging when they can personalize it. Does your app too have this feature?
Learn the first thing first. No user downloads apps to uninstall. They uninstall some apps because of ‘boredom and lack of perceived value’ as per Localytics, the mobile engagement platform. It also found that when it comes to maintaining engagement, mobile app developers need to provide the best of the functionalities and features for personalization.

They need to learn from behavioral signals coming through channels like the web, data of in-store and in-app.
There is no doubt that apps carry on their march up Gartner’s Hype Cycle ‘slope of enlightenment’. It doesn’t mean that marketers will not need to pay attention on customer engagement. Mobile app developers have to keep tailoring the app to enhance its experience. It will happen only when they know what users are doing with the app.
